Real Me – What do I want to
Be, Do, Have, Share
Personality plays a large role in who we are, but character determines who we become
In this workshop we explore the issues love and character, and how to plan your life: Make it happen don’t just let it happen!
Now that you have discovered your preferred Love Language lets dig a bit deeper. We tend to speak our preferred love language to others but, they may not “understand” our love language or appreciate it as much. This is why it is important to speak the other person’s love language if we want them to feel loved. Showing someone you love them in their dominant love language is more valuable than if they have to ask for it. Learning about love languages helps to build stronger relationships. Get your loved-ones to take the test and start speaking each other’s love language and see what a difference it makes. Click HERE to learn more about Love languages.
How do we set life goals to live on purpose and not by accident?
Many people spend a lifetime looking for a single purpose in order to feel fulfilled and never find it. More important than finding a single purpose is to live your life WITH PURPOSE: to live on purpose and not by accident.
Anything worth having in this world need to be Built: relationships, marriage, homes, success, all need to be built. Together with your Creator you can design the future. Begin setting your goals with the wheel of life. Click HERE to download the Wheel of Life Goal Guide.
In order to succeed in achieving or building anything we need to be focused and committed. That means we must be able to identify anything that might distract us like a relationship, money or entertainment, anything that might feel good now but will slow us down or prevent us from reaching our goals. Remember the Marshmallow test: being able to wait for a reward and to delay something until the best timing makes it better and makes you a better person for it. Self control is one of the greatest contributors to overall success. Pray for it: Ask God to give you self control to wait for something until the right time. Also ask God for wisdom: He has promised to give it generously to anyone who asks. (James 1:5). Once you have identified what qualities you need to grow in yourself to reach your goals, identify what you need to do (the steps you need to take) and where you need to start. Be clear about what you want to have and how will you know you have it: For example you want to get a Law degree but first you need a university entrance pass, so you need to make sure you do well in all your subjects and exceptionally well if you want to apply for a bursary. Then write down how you will share what you have achieved with others. Life is not only about getting but also about giving and sharing and we should all use our talents and accomplishments to help others as well as our selves.
If we study the Bible deeply we come to realise that “be holy” means to be filled with love. God wired us for loving relationships with Him, with others and with ourselves. The disease of SIN (Selfishness in Nature) and SINS (Selfishess in Nature Symptoms) seperates us from Him, from others and even from ourselves. The SIN disease is the reason for every other disease that exists. And the only cure is Jesus and His method of healing us. He can and will heal us if we choose, but this means trusting Him fully, and to trust Him we have to know Him. So begin with that as your NUMBER ONE goal: Get to know who God really is. If you need help with that, fill out the questionnaire HERE and we will help you.
God’s plans are to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future (Jer 29:11) so don’t beleive the lies of the enemy or your own negative talk. Include Jesus in your goal setting – whether it is about overcoming a weakness or temptation or needing the motivation and energy to reach a goal, He is there to help you. Sometimes it is hard to see God like in this picture, but once you do, you cannot unsee Him. He is always there wanting to help you grow and develop to what He created you to be.
Consider each area of life and write down at least one goal in each area. Download the document here for each category. Follow the S.M.A.R.T. Goal formula: Your goals must be Specific, Measurable. Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound otherwise they will just be dreams. Turn your dreams into a Reality by turning them in to goals and breaking them down into small steps that you can measure so that you have the motivation to move forward. Reward yourself for reaching your goals. Remember to pray and ask God to guide you with your goal setting and ask Him to empower you to achieve your goals. He wants you to grow and develop into the best version of you.
Remember in order to achieve your goals you need to Be the kind of person that will help you reach your goals. Follow the BE, DO, HAVE, SHARE Formula to increase your chances of success.
SET YOUR GOALS SO THAT THE FUTURE YOU WILL THANK YOU FOR TAKING HER TO WHERE SHE WANTS TO BE.
